On the Country's “Roll of Honour”
Hyde Man Killed in Action
News has been received during the past week of the death of Private Terence McDermott of the 1st Cheshire Regiment. Private McDermott, whose home is in Albion Street, Hyde, went through the Boer War from start to finish, and at the time of the outbreak of the present war was a reservist. He went to France early in the campaign, and when he last wrote home was in good health. He was very well known in the town, being by trade a tailor. The news of his death will be greatly regretted by a large circle of friends in the town. All the news that has been received up the present is the official information from the War Office.
