Hyde Man Killed in Action
News was received on Friday last by his wife of the death of Private James Mellor, of the 2nd Cheshires, of Shaw Hall, Newton. Pte. Mellor, who was 42 years of age, was in the National Reserve prior to the war, and enlisted some months ago. He was employed by the Hyde Corporation in the Sanitary Department. His death is mourned by his wife and large family.
